Default FoW Armor

What is the total cost of Warrior FoW armor.

Gold and materials.

Example: Vabbi set cost me 417,000g. Total cost.
16 Rubys
16 Saphires
200 Iron
30 Linen
25k Cash.
--------------
$417,000.00g

Took me 2 1/2 weeks of grinding. I'm setting my sights on FoW armor now.
So i expect it might be some time in freaking FEBUARY before i have enough fo it. I've always been happy with the Marins Groto i've had for years. Untill HoM update came along i cared little about it. But HoM being the game changer it is....now i have to go spend tons of cash on armor i really won't even wear much. But before i got myself into the dredge of scrounging up the plats for FoW armor i figured i'd ask around to see exactly what it's going to cost me. thanks.

HoM will only reward cosmetic stuff in GW2. If you don't feel that's worth the hassle, don't do it.

A quick calculation gives me around 1337 platinum.

I'm not kidding either. That's at 14e/100k, 3k per Shard, 1k per Deldrimor Steel, 5k for Steel, and 75k cash.

Actually, Shards are running at 4k now. So add another 105K.

You don't have to max the HoM and FoW armor isn't needed for the 30 point level, after which you are only given titles. So don't complain or say that you HAVE to grind for it since it is a choice you are making.

You only need 4 armor pieces for the HoM, so skip the hat. 105 ecto/shards for the 4 pieces, then the rest depends on your profession. Ecto and shards can be farmed and you can collect other materials through salvaging, so the full price need not be paid.

It's worth it if you like the way it looks, it doesn't take as much time if you really want it, all you have to do is power trade a bit and on the side you could do the daily Zaishen Missions, Bounties, and the other one whatever its called, in no time you'll have enough gold coins to exchange for a heavy bag or two (depending on how many chars you do it on daily? - it takes roughly ~1hour to do the ZM and ZB on HM if you do it with people) I found that when i stopped playing and came back from playing (having nothing, no plat, nothing..) I just farmed Tombs for a bit, not sure if people still do that though. Eitherway, it doesn't take as long as you make it seem if you have fun playing haha.

like #6 said, skip the headpiece if you don't mind, it'll always be the same amount of gold/ectos/shards etc etc, if you wait a bit, who knows prices of ectos/shards will eventually drop and fluctuate, like they always do.

Thank's guys.

I'm 31/50 now on HoM.
I am wondering if i need to actually do the others & get to 50/50 HoM.
With out knowing what we're getting in GW2 from our HoM efforts after 30/50...
is it even really worth the effort? And i think it's been said that GWAMM will have an impact on you in GW2....yet know one seems to knwo that that impact will be as of yet.
Unless it's something extordanary....why do i want to invest the tike to purseu it? Same as everything else @ the point includding Armor.

We DO know these things . The rewards after 30/50 are all titles. GWAMM carries directly over as a title. So anything beyond 30 is just for glitz and glam. Check out the HoM FaQ over at guildwars2.com.

Otherwise, congrats on your 30/50!

Nothing from GW1 will give any 'real' advantage in GW2. The first 30 points will give you cosmetic items, but other items that function the same will be available in-game. After 30 points there are only titles that you can display in GW2. GWAMM too. They give no benefits.

Might be smart btw to not go and buy all warrior armors, they are expensive compared to others.

Thanks guys.

As far as GW2 Tittles go...I was kinda hoping the tittle buffs would contenuie from GW to GW2. It's kinda nice to have the Rebel Yell buff in Char Country. If that's the case with the HoM Tittles above 30/50...IMO it'd be worth persueing.

Dzjudz, I'm asuming that's what you ment by

I hope that's not the case.

You can hope all you want, but we have been told repeatedly that no HoM reward will give any GW2 gameplay advantage. We've been told this starting long before the HoM reward calculator was introduced. The only title that will carry over directly is GWAMM, and the reward titles over 30 points are simply titles (Ghostly Hero at 35 points, Flameseeker at 40, Legend of the Mists at 45, and Champion of the Gods at 50).

They will be titles like sweet tooth, not titles like ebon vanguard (i.e. they will be titles that you can display but do not get any advantage from).

For more information on GW2, you can check out the guildwars2guru.com forum site. There is a stickied thread on what is definitely in the game. http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/...and-t6034.html

As BrettM said, none of the HoM rewards will be more than cosmetic. ArenaNet does not believe in giving players advantages over other players.
